Important news Burger Box. My next Million £ step.

1. Hi all, this is Paulo and i have some very good news to announce. Burger Box will officially launch its website on Monday the 5th of September 2011.
   A couple of years ago when McDonalds decided to open 24 hours i received a phone call from a reporter at the Surrey Comet asking me what i was going to do to compete with McDonalds. I told them that because McDonalds is such a large company there isnt much i could really do. All i could do is carry on serving the high quality food and know that i would always have the support of my regular customers. Well... i still took a massive hit on sales, 50%, because of the marketing power of this giant.
   Last year i decided to let all know that i would be turning Burger Box into a million £ company and invited people to follow me on Facebook and twitter in this somewhat crazy journey.
   The next step towards this goal is to launch a website where customers can order on-line, and get burgers and hot dogs delivered to their business or homes. The initial menu will be limited and we will only be open from 11am to 11 pm, but with time the menu will increase.
   But the difference is that i will be tweeting the weekly sales every week. I want all my followers to be the first ones to see my journey and in the long run, i want to prove with this new business that it can be done. I would like to give all my followers a chance to be the first ones the opportunity of franchising this business all around the country. You see, with this valuable information, my followers will be in a unique position to know if my business proposition is credible or not.
   I believe that with the power of social networking and open information from me i can take the Burger Box brand into the next level and you never know, take a few followers with me as well.
   I might be naive, but i am willing to take this bold risk.

10 reasons to eat at Burger Box Surbiton

1- We are very clean, you can actually see the food being cooked and prepared in front of you and if you don't like something a certain way you can always ask us to change. In normal places they cook the food away from view and you never know what you are actually eating. You see, the biggest advantage you have from eating at the Burger Box is that you can see everything happening.

2- We accept most credit and debit cards.

3-If you are a few pence short, you can always ask us for a discount. It happens many times, a customer comes along and asks for a cheeseburger, he then realises that he is 10 pence short, we are not going to turn business away because of 10 pence. Try doing the same in a big chain. You will walk away with nothing.

3-We do a great peri peri chicken burger. My mum actually marinates the chicken in her own secret sauce.

4- It is a great place to meet people. The amount of friendships i have seen starting in front of Burger Box are too many to mention. Personally, i have made friends with loads of customers. People also network allot at the Burger Box. It normally starts like this-

a customer comes in and places his order, another comes along and places her order. Then they start chatting '' what have you been up to tonight'' and so on, and all of a sudden numbers are exchanged. Cool! The queue is GOOD

5- We have a Facebook and Twitter group that you can join for great offers and discounts. Sometimes you get buy one get one free, 50% off all food, 49p cheeseburger and much, much more.

6- Every year we raise money for Princess Alice Hospice, Last year we raised over £1200 and we gave away a new Iphone 3gs, a Nintendo WII, and a Tom Tom.

This year we are giving away a new Ipad.

7- We do a great Spanish double cheeseburger. It is basically a double cheeseburger with spanish chorizo.

8- 100% of my customers told me that my burgers are much tastier than other big burger chains.

9- We only use Hellmans Mayo and Heinz Ketchup. We also have almost every Branston sauce and chillie sauce available.

10- You can have mayonnaise with your McCain chips. You would be surprised to find out that other big burger chains don't offer Mayo.

Follow my journey into making my business into a multi million pound company

Hi all Burger Box members. As most of you know my name is Paulo Benfeito and i have been running Burger Box in Surbiton for 2 years exactly and i have loved every minute. I have made some really good friends and all my customers are great.
Most of you know as well that McDonalds decided to open 24 hours in the weekends and that has really hurt my business.
To tell you the truth, maybe if i was in the same position as them, i would most probably do the same. ( i used to work for them so i know)
Looking over the past year, even though my business took a 50% hit since McDonalds opened, i didn't let that affect me. On contrary, it made me realize that i was too comfortable and that i had all my eggs in one basket. With that in mind, these last 6 months i have been expanding and creating more baskets.
I have another catering trailer that covers 2 markets in the weekends, every Saturday at Bovingdon Market near Hemel Hempsted and Wembley Market every Sunday.
I also run the Coffee Bay Kiosk at Hampton Court train station and i just recently opened another Coffee Bay kiosk at East Molesey Cricket Club.
At the moment i have 4 baskets with more to come in the next months and years to come.
One thing i realized is that allot of my customers would like to know what i am up to and how i am doing, and for that reason i opened an account on Twitter that allows me to send Tweets and my Facebook account gets updated straight away.
My goal is to turn the Burger Box group into a multi million pound company and i think it would be cool to have a few people follow me on my journey from the beginning. I know that i wont be able to achieve this goal by myself, so with your help it will be easier.
